Hey Marshal! Have you ever thought about your thinking?
Well I don’t know, what do you mean?
Another words, have you ever noticed ware your thoughts lead?
Where my thoughts lead?
Still not sure I follow you.
Thoughts lead to words.
Thoughts lead to emotional states.
Thoughts lead one to take actions, have you ever noticed?
Hmmm.
Well I guess I never thought about it that way before.
Right, just as I suspected.
But that’s ok because it’s never to late to get off the thought train.
What do you mean, get off the
thought train?
The train of thought.
Normally we get on and we don’t know that we have gotten on.
When we get off a mile or a
hundred miles latter, sometimes we don’t know that we have gotten off.
What happens then?
We say something to someone, we take an action and we feel a certain way.
The result will be negative, positive or neutral.
What can we do about this?
It seams awfully like what your saying is that we humans are slaves of our own minds.
Quite true, and if we don’t train our self, We will stay enslaved.
We need to try to observe where our thoughts lead so that we can have a choice.
Otherwise we will be puppets of our own thoughts which lead to allot of unnecessary Suffering.
Of course the problem isn’t the thoughts in and of themselves.
It’s when we always are believing them.
When we buy into them we are their puppets.
So are you saying that it’s not about
eradicating thinking, it’s about forming a different relationship to it?
Marshal that’s it!
After all thinking is a wonderful and necessary faculty.
We need it.
When we use thoughts wisely it
leads to wise results.
It’s when thoughts use us that we
get into trouble.
The key then is to get onto our self.
If we start seeing what we are
doing, then we have a chance to
form that new relationship.
So Marshal, listen, I gota go.
So, good luck not taking your
thoughts so seriously.
Good luck believing them a little less.
Ok, thanks, see you latter Marshal
