Yesterday, I tasted a most delicious peach.
Why is it that today’s peach wasn’t so good.
In fact it was poor.
Very mealy, it had hardly a flavor and it was as if all the juice had been rung dry.
My initial impulse was to throw that peach out.
After all I was expecting since it looked about the same as yesterdays peach, that it would taste as good.
I mean isn’t that logical?
Why shouldn’t this peach taste as good as yesterdays?
But something compelled me to eat that poor mealy peach.
And I have to say that the whole experience was beautifully unsatisfactory.
How brilliant, this state of mind that is enslaved by expectation.
And this enslavement can even take the form of a poor peach.
